Britney Spears’ dad Jamie ‘demands to be reinstated as co-conservator’ despite star ‘wanting him OUT of role’

BRITNEY Spears' father Jamie "wants to be reinstated as her co-conservator" - despite the singer being "strongly opposed" to the move.

The 68-year-old stepped down as his daughter's conservator in September 2019 due to ill health reasons.

But Jamie has requested for himself and Andrew Wallet - an attorney who once helped oversee 's finances - to resume their duties, claimed.

Andrew had resigned from the role last year.

Jamie asked that he and Andrew have "power to obtain all documents and records" relating to Britney's estate, according to a petition his counsel submitted.

This includes access to "all contracts, information relating to credit cards, bank statements, estate planning documents, receivables, and any and all powers of attorney."

Britney has $2.7 million in cash assets and an estimated $57.4 million in non-cash assets as of December 31, according to the document.

A hearing is thought to have been set for September 16.

Jamie previously said Britney's conservatorship is and called "a joke".

Britney wants her manager Jodi Montgomery - who temporarily took over the role in September 2019 - to be her permanent conservator.

Her attorney said: "Britney is strongly opposed to having [Jamie] return as conservator of her person.

"Rather, she strongly prefers to have Ms. Montgomery continue in that role as has done for nearly a year... Britney would like Ms. Montgomery's appointment as conservator of her person to be made permanent."

Documents also stated that " to reflect her current lifestyle and her wishes" - confirming reports that the star no longer wishes to perform at this moment in time.
