Nitin Passi: Who is the Missguided owner and what’s his net worth?

AT 37 years old, Nitin Passi has rocketed to success as founder of fast fashion brand Missguided.

A Channel 4 documentary called Inside Missguided: Made In Manchester revealed what it's like to work for the young millionaire CEO - but here's how he started out.

Who is Missguided owner Nitin Passi?

Nitin Passi is founder and owner of fast fashion retailer Missguided.

Passi was born in Cheshire, but had an international childhood, growing up in Surrey, Hong Kong and New York.

Passi is of Indian heritage - his grandfather moved to the UK from India to set up a knitwear factory.

After graduating from university in 2005, Missguided was the first business he set up, at the height of the 2008 recession.

Nitin's father owned a clothes importing business for high street stores, so the young graduate had an understanding of the fashion industry.

Inspired by brands like Asos, he got a loan off his father for 50,000 pounds back in 2008 and set up the brand the following year.

He repaid the loan within six months.

Missguided had a tough financial year in 2017/2018.

Nitin learned he had to adapt his brand to the market.

He said: “Wind back two years ago, we were all about rainbows, unicorns, fluffy pinks, ’LOLs’ and ‘TTYLs’.

"We have moved away from that.

"We target ages 16 to 29, and we are absolutely alienating anyone above the age of 22 with that style.”

What is Nitin Passi's net worth?

According to The Sunday Times Rich List in 2018, he has a net worth of £250million, although he did not make the top 1,000 in 2020.

However, according to accounts, Missguided recorded a loss after tax of £46.7 million for 2017/2018.

Missguided said in its strategic repor: "The year has been an extremely challenging one from which the brand emerges stronger".

Is Nitin Passi married?

Not much is known about his private life. However, Business Telegraph reported back in 2018 that he was engaged to a woman named Naina.

Passi works in Salford during the week but has a home in Knightsbridge, west London, where he spends weekends.

He is a self-confessed "fitness freak" and also has a tattoo of the Missguided logo on his arm.

When is Inside Missguided: Made In Manchester on?

Episodes of Inside Missguided will be airing weekly from August 12 at 10pm on Channel 4.
