Coleen Nolan’s son furiously hits back at comedian Mark Jones who made sick joke about his aunts Linda and Anne’s cancer
COLEEN Nolan's son Shane furiously hit back at a comedian who made a sick joke about his aunt Linda and Anne's cancer online.
Earlier this month, the two sisters bravely told The Sun that they are both battling cancer after being diagnosed just days apart - seven years after their other sister Bernie died of the disease.
Comic Mark Jones posted a picture of The Sun's front page which showed both women with shaved heads.
In a now deleted tweet, Mark wrote: "Right Said Fred looking well."
The cruel jibe refereced the pop group whose members Fred and Richard Fairbrass are both bald.
Taking to his own social media account yesterday, 31-year-old Shane defended his aunties, writing: "Imagine being one of those people who write horrible things online and think they're funny and brave cos nobody can see or find them.
"Writing about someone's who's family is suffering with cancer, there really is some disgusting and vile people around. I don't get it."
Mark quickly acknowledged the indirect message, apologising to Shane as he wrote: "You're right. I apologise. I was totally out of order and will delete the tweet.
"I am very sorry for the offence caused by my stupid comment."
Referencing Mark directly, one fan wrote: "I'm quite literally dumbstruck by it mate. I didn’t think he would do something so vile."
Shane replied: "Sad thing is, I’m not. I get s**t everyday , but to get it from someone who has worked with my family and in the business just shocked me tbh.
"He's apologised now and deleted the tweet so I won't say anymore but I really wasn't happy mate."
Shane later urged his followers to leave Mark alone after he was inundated with messages about the tweet.
The singer wrote: "Guys @mistermarkjones has apologised now. Was a stupid tweet and he feels a d**k. Let’s leave it at that.
"Just hope other people can learn from that. #Bekind"
Mark thanked Shane as he apologised again, sharing: "Thank you Shane. I appreciate that hugely. I've tried to reply to the many people who have messaged me and apologise for my tweet.
"I don't hide from my mistakes. Once again, I'm very sorry."
Shane is 55-year-old Coleen's son with ex-husband Shane Richie, with Coleen breaking down in tears on Loose Women yesterday as she opened up about her sisters' illnesses.
She said: "They’re great, unbelievably great, but they’re scared. Anne’s suffering terribly from anxiety, something she’s never ever had in her life.
"And Linda is devastated with her hair loss."
Coleen added there are good days and bad days: "They are so joyous and still laughing. They obviously have terrible days where they feel ill. It’s hard because I can’t see them as they are high risk.
"The initial thing is I wanted to jump into the car, drive to Blackpool and wrap my arms around them. It’s heartbreaking."
The Sun Online revealed that soon after returning home from filming their joyful hit TV series The Nolans Go Cruising, with their bandmate sisters Coleen and Maureen in March, Linda and Anne both received devastating cancer diagnoses within days of each other.
Anne, 69, told us she is scared of dying in the emotional interview, saying through tears: "I don’t want to die. I love my life so much.
“I love my daughters, my grandchildren, my friends, all my family. I want to live for as long as I possibly can. I am scared of dying as well.

The sisters pulled together in a way only the Nolans can, with Maureen moving in with Anne to look after her and 61-year-old Linda relocating to sister Denise’s house.
But both have vowed to beat their cancer, a disease they have both had to confront before and that tragically killed their sister Bernie in 2013.
