Piers Morgan mocks Simon Cowell’s tragic bike accident and tells him ‘stick to the zimmer frame next time’
PIERS Morgan poked fun at Simon Cowell on Monday following the news that the music mogul had broken his back in a bike accident.
Piers, 55, took to Twitter to respond to Simon's tweet from Sunday in which he thanked fans for their kind messages.
Simon's original tweet read: "Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.
"I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages."
Good Morning Britain host retweeted it and added: "Stick to that Zimmer Frame I got you in future - it's more age-appropriate. Glad you're through to the next round."
Piers' followers thought the tweet was hilarious and replied in their droves.
"The banter is electric," one person wrote, while another added: "Can't wait to hear what David Walliams has to say. Oh my poor Simon!"
We're sure Simon saw the funny side of it as he recovers from the nasty accident, which happened over the weekend in Los Angeles.
The Britain's Got Talent star, 60, needed six hours of surgery and missed his spinal cord by a centimetre in the horrific accident.
Simon's son Eric, six, and his partner Lauren Silverman’s teenage lad Adam watched in horror as he fell backwards and smashed down onto a concrete floor at his LA home.
A source told The Sun: "He was testing out his new bike with Eric and Adam and the power of it surprised him a bit.

"He fell back directly onto his back and immediately knew he was in trouble. He was in a bad way."
He now faces a long stay in hospital — scuppering his plans to star in tomorrow night’s live launch of the new America’s Got Talent series.
Doctors told the TV mogul he was “very lucky” not to have suffered paralysing injuries.
