Ben Shephard pays emotional tribute to Kate Garraway despite her ‘trying to get him sacked’

BEN Shephard has paid an emotional tribute to Kate Garraway after filming his last Good Morning Britain show for a while.

The 45-year-old said he had loved having her back in the studio alongside him – despite her “trying to get him sacked” with her naughty behaviour.

The close pals have been separated since March when Kate’s huband Derek ended up in a coma during his coronavirus battle.

Kate, 53, took four months off work to look after their children before returning last month alongside Ben.

Yesterday, her co-host revealed he is taking a short breaking from GMB to film fellow ITV show Tipping Point.

Sharing a snap of himself with Kate socially-distancing backstage, Ben wrote: “Ahh there’s nothing quite like working with @kategarraway.

“Have loved having her back in the studio – although still not sure about her ‘a warm Shephard oozing all over you’ comment.

“Thank you for all your messages, despite Kate trying to get us both sacked.”

He added: “Will be back with Kate in the GMB studio in September for more of the same!!”

Kate has leaned on Ben during the difficult last few months

The Sun yesterday revealed Ben will be replaced by Adil Ray and Sean Fletcher in his absence.

He’s had to take time off GMB to film the 11th series of Tipping Point which had been pushed back because of COVID-19.

Meanwhile Sean will also make his return to Good Morning Britain.

He joined the ITV show in 2014 alongside Susanna Reid, Charlotte Hawkins and Ben when it launched as GMB.
