GOOD Morning Britain suffered a huge power cut today and "descended into chaos".
Presenter Kate Garrway revealed the team made it on air "by the skin of our teeth" just after 6am today following the massive electrical failure in the ITV studios.
Speaking to viewers just after 6am, she added: "We are here by the skin of our teeth. We had a massive power cut at Good Morning Britain and it's been all sorts of drama.
"They couldn't print off any stories, give us any briefs and they had no lights because the air conditioner went off and the server shut down.
"The producer is in my ear laughing at me for being so technical."
Her co-host Ben Shephard admitted it was "touch and go" as to whether the episode would run.
He added: "Just a big shout out to the team that got us on. To Daniel and your team, because it really was touch and go."
Kate laughed and said: "We hope it lasts until 9pm, there is a bit of gaffer tape over everything ... Chaos at Good Morning Britain this morning.
"Glad to have the lights back on!"
The producers couldn't resist playing a trick on Kate, switching off the lights just as she told fans about their nightmare morning.
On Monday, Kate said she was at the "absolute limit" after suffering a terrifying blowout on the motorway at the weekend.
The Good Morning Britain star was left shaken by the ordeal as she rushed to visit husband Derek Draper who remains in intensive care following his coronavirus battle.
Kate was forced to call the police when she was left stranded on the motorway with no hard shoulder for over an hour.
Speaking about the incident yesterday on GMB, Kate said: "There’s a phrase, that God and the universe don’t send you anything you can’t deal with.
"I’m at my limit. I’m at my absolute limit so if the universe could give me a minute ...
"We were rushing back because we were conscious of getting back to London to check on Derek and my parents were coming for a visit."
