Holby City reopens BBC set as filming begins on special coronavirus episode
HOLBY City has reopened its set and started filming for its special coronavirus episode today.
It comes after the BBC shutdown six shows including the popular BBC soap to help stop the spread of the deadly bug.
Fans of the popular medical drama will be pleased to know that filming started up again for a special episode that will focus on the current coronavirus pandemic.
Kate Oates, Head of Continuing Drama at BBC Studios said: “It’s with great pleasure that we open the doors at Elstree to welcome back the exceptional cast and crew of Holby City.
"We have some gripping stories to tell as we explore how the lives of our characters have been irrevocably changed since the start of the pandemic - and how our heroes battle against the odds, come what may.”
The special will follow Holby City's CEO Max (Jo Martin) try and manage the safety of her staff, on top of making sure that the patients are getting all the care that they need.

Max also has problems with Ric (Hugh Quarshie) that she has to try and come to terms with too.
The show's production team have made sure that the cast and crew are all safe enough to return back to work.
During filming, social distancing will be adhered to in accordance to current government guidelines.
