STRICTLY NO

James Jordan says he will never return to Strictly Come Dancing with wife Ola as they’re ‘too fat, slow and old’

JAMES and Ola have ruled out ever returning to Strictly as competitive pro dancers.

The couple, who have been dance partners for more than two decades, made their names on the smash-hit BBC1 series but these days they view themselves as very much the old guard.

Quizzed on a return, James says: “No, not now. I’m too old, too fat and too slow. Let the young ones do it. I like watching them.”

The prime-time series will be on our screens later than planned this year due to Covid-19.

It will kick off in October and feature fewer dance pairings.

James is not surprised the BBC has pulled out all the stops to ensure it features in its autumn schedule and thinks that despite its shorter-than-usual run, celebrities will still be desperate to take part.

He says: “It’s their flagship show and  if people are allowed to go in pubs and shops, why can’t Strictly come back?

“That’s as long as they make it safe, which I’m sure they’ll find a way to do.

“It’s  such a great show to be on. For anyone who is considering doing Strictly, I don’t think they would say no this year just because it will be different to usual.

“More people are sitting at home because of what’s been going on so I think the ratings will actually go up.”
