GOOD Morning Britain viewers were left with their jaws on the ground as Andi Peters revealed he's turning 50 soon.

The TV presenter, 49, who is taking over hosting duties for Lorraine dropped the bombshell this morning.

The ever-youthful star revealed ITV would be giving away 50 cash prizes in one day to celebrate his milestone birthday.

But the massive cash giveaways are not what got viewers' attention, but rather Andi's age.

They were shocked he was turning so 50, when he looked so young and took to Twitter to express their surprise.

One Twitter user wrote: "#gmb how is #andipeters 50?"

While another added: "Cannot believe @andipeters is 50!! My jaw just nearly hit the floor. We need your secret! Look amazing #GMB @GMB."

A third said: "STFU @andipeters gonna be 50?? How the funk did that happen? arghhhhh not far behind lol #GMB."

And a fourth commented: "31 year old me, who’s been watching @andipeters since I was little, not believing he’s 50 next week! I mean, it adds up on paper, but look at him!! Love you Andi! #GMB."

Not only is Andi turning 50 next week, but he's getting ready to step into the host's seat.

Lorraine will be going on her summer holiday - leaving Andi and Christine Lampard to fill her shoes.

Asked about taking over the role on GMB, Andi said: "That is correct. In the summer holidays while Lorraine goes to have a well deserved break - god bless her, she's been on for months and months and months.

"I'll be filling in for Lorraine alongside Christine [Lampard], who will be there as well."

The last man to replace Lorraine was Michael Ball in 2010.

Andi will be in the seat from August 10 to 21. Meanwhile, Christine will be taking over from July 20 to August 7, before coming back from August 24 to September 1.

The TV personality also spoke about taking over the role to.

He said: "I love Lorraine, I've known her for ten years, I'm on her show every day with competitions and it's great to be part of that family.

"So, sitting in for her is an honour, Lorraine is an institution. As much as I adore always giving away money on the competition slots, I'm looking forward to chatting to people and having a whole hour to actually relax into it. I'm a bit of a chatterbox.

"I'll enjoy having guests on, who want to have a bit of a chinwag and also to be able to do some serious stuff.

"I am happy and jolly, and that will always be there, but obviously I do have an opinion... I'm genuinely really excited."

ITV's daytime hosts are having a bit of a shakeup as the presenters take a break for the summer.

On This Morning, Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have left for two months - with regulars Dermot O'Leary, Rochelle Humes and Alison Hammond stepping in.
