Alex said while he "can't wait to get back into the studio" he was busy at home filming show introductions.
They will be opening the vault for the first time to give viewers a glimpse into vintage episodes including Alex's first as host, "moustache and all."
"I'd also like to take this opportunity to give you a quick health update," Alex said.
"I'm doing well, I'm continuing treatment and it's paying off though it does fatigue me a great deal."
Alex continued that his numbers were good and he was "feeling great."
He also revealed he's managed to write a book in his downtime, coming out later this month, it's titled, The Answer Is... Reflections on My Life.
The Canada-born star tragically broke the news in March 2019 that he had been diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer.
“Just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week I was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer.
"Now, normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this—and I’m going to keep working,” he said determined in a recorded video message at the time.
He also revealed that he had beaten the odds of certain survival targets for the nasty cancer.
Speaking in March this year, Alex said there was only an 18% one-year survival rate for the kind of stage 4 pancreatic cancer he has.
"I'm very happy to report I have just reached that marker," he said.
During a candid interview with in December 2019, Alex opened up about how his cancer has left him .
In a joint sit-down with his wife of 30 years, Jean Trebeck, he emotionally said of his spouse: “It’s always tough for caretakers because she has to deal with her worrying about my well-being and also dealing with.

"I’m not always the most pleasant person to be around when I’m experiencing severe pain or depression, and she has to tread lightly around me.”
The couple share two children together - 29-year-old son Matthew and 26-year-old daughter Emily.
He continued to confess to the the GMA anchor that he has “rehearsed” the for the show he has been the face of since 1984.
