I’m A Celeb ‘could be forced to move to Scotland’ as Australia plans under threat due to coronavirus pandemic

I'M A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! could take place in the UK later this year if there is a second wave of Covid-19.

Show bosses are said to be scoping out venues in England and Scotland in case this year's celebs cannot travel Down Under and camp out in the Aussie jungle.

The hit ITV show, which is fronted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, will serve up it's 20th series later this year - and now it's sure to be a memorable one.

One source revealed: "Having I’m a Celebrity for three weeks in November is seen as a huge priority.

"Everyone hopes to get back to Australia but over there they are struggling massively with flare-ups resulting in second lock-downs. It simply may not be possible because of safety."

The source added to The Mirror: "A decision needs to be made next month – in the meantime, the team is looking at stately homes, castles, mansions in remote areas of Scotland and England to see if we could stage it here.

"A dark, cold and spooky version of the show would be good fun – it would certainly be different."

Even if the reality show is forced to take place in the UK, bosses reckon it will still be memorable and hopefully bring in the epic ratings that it is well known for.

I'm A Celeb, which launched in 2002, pulled in audiences of up to 10million last year.

And this year could be even better if the rumoured line-up is anything to go by.

This week it was reported that Vernon Kay has signed a £250,000 deal to take part - ten years after his sexting scandal with Rhian Sugden.

The 46-year-old star has been approached several times in the past, but ITV bosses have only just managed to sign him up.

Earlier this week, we revealed that I'm A Celeb bosses were also lining up Jessie J and football legend Paul Merson for an A-list series.

The 2019 series saw former EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa crowned queen of the jungle as she camped with the likes of Kate Garraway, Roman Kemp and Caitlyn Jenner.
