Zara Larsson reveals collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande have been scrapped from her second album
ZARA Larsson says tunes featuring Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran may never see the light of day after she decided against having collaborations on her second album.
The Swedish singer is gearing up to release her as-yet-untitled record later this year, but said one track that featured Ariana on backing vocals was unlikely to be included.
In an exclusive chat, Zara said of the song that was recorded last year: “I don’t know if I’ll put it on the album, it’s not on there right now.
"Also, sorry to say to Ariana fans, you can’t really hear her on there anyway because we did a gang vocal thing, so there’s like ten people singing at the same time. But she’s so sweet.
“It’s a really good song. It’s about not feeling your best, being anxious and wishing you were someone else sometimes.
"Everyone is in that situation sometimes. I’ve tried out a few different features but I’m not sure if I want features on my album.
“I still really like the artists so I’ll save them and maybe they’ll come out in the future.”
Asked if she had unreleased tracks with Ed, who she toured with last year, Zara added: “There are definitely songs, there’s so many the universe will probably never be able to hear.
"We worked together for the album but I’ve been working on this album for three years.
“I feel like the majority of the songs are basically from the last two weeks of the writing for it.”
Zara returned yesterday with her record’s brilliant lead single Love Me Land, which was written in March, just before she flew back to Sweden to avoid lockdown in the US.
She said: “I remember leaving the studio and feeling so happy about it.”
