Holly Willoughby outraged after Bernie Ecclestone says changing nappies and doing night feeds is ‘for wives’

HOLLY WILLOUGHBY was left seething after Bernie Ecclestone's controversial remarks about women on This Morning today.

The former F1 boss was slammed after admitting that he won't change nappies or do night feeds because "that's what wives are for".

And his comments left This Morning host Holly wincing after what social media users described as a "car crash interview".

The 89-year-old billionaire welcomed his fourth child, a son called Ace, earlier this month with wife Fabiana Flosi, 41.

The latest backlash comes soon after Bernie sparked controversy for saying "black people are more racist than white people" in a shocking TV interview last month.

He and his wife appeared live on This Morning earlier today, where Holly and Phillip Schofield asked if Bernie was a "hands on" dad.

Holly and Phil were clearly stunned by the comments

Fabiana replied: "He helps, and he looks after him - he's a special person and we are super happy."

When pushed if Bernie changes nappies and does the night feeds, the former F1 boss abruptly said "no" with a chuckle.

Holly replied: "So you're hands on, except for that bit."

Bernie agreed: "Exactly, I do whatever's necessary when it's necessary - but that's what wives are for."

Holly and Phil were clearly shocked by the comment, with the latter hitting back: "That's going to be controversial, Bernie."

But the new dad brushed it off, replying: "Most things I say seem to be."

Despite Bernie appearing not to care about triggering backlash, Phil's words proved true as unimpressed This Morning viewers flocked to Twitter to react to his comments.

One wrote: "'That's what wives are for'… c***."

Another added: "The Bernie Ecclestone interview on #ThisMorning was an eye opener. He came across as a male chauvinist."

A third said: "That whole interview was a disaster from start to end".

Elsewhere in the chat, Bernie seemed shocked when he was asked why he didn't want to be in the delivery room as his wife gave birth, simply arguing: "I wasn't there, I'm not a doctor."

Fabiana gave birth on 1 July in just a 25-minute labour, with grandfather-of-five Ecclestone, who turns 90 in October, confirming the news, saying: "We have a son named Ace. I am so proud."

Brazilian Fabiana added: "It was all so easy. The birth was over after 25 minutes. I thank god."

The baby boy is the billionaire businessman's first son after having three daughters with his previous partners.

He married marketing director Flosi in 2012 - three years after he divorced Croatian model Ms Radic.

On This Morning, Fabiana said that Tamara had been particularly hands-on with looking after her little brother, who is 35 years her junior.

Earlier this week, Bernie told The Sun Online that he wants another baby at 90 and that he doesn't need Viagra as he hit back at critics of him welcoming a child at his age.
