Netflix cancels Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – with final episodes set to drop later this year
EVERYONE'S favourite teen witch will be no more as Netflix announces it has cancelled the Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina.
'Part four' of the supernatural series will air on the streaming service later this year.
The final eight episodes of the show which follows its titular character as she navigates her coming of age and the occult will see her witch coven fight new terrors and face an apocalypse.
Netflix described the final season: "The Eldritch Terrors descend upon Greendale.
"The coven must fight each terrifying threat one-by-one (The Weird, The Returned, The Darkness to name a few), all leading up to… The Void, which is the End of All Things.
"As the witches wage war, with the help of The Fright Club, Nick begins to slowly earn his way back into Sabrina's heart, but will it be too late?"
Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) plays the young witch in the show which was adapted from the 90s comedy Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
The remake first aired on Netflix in 2018 and has a score of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series was meant to run as a companion show to The CW show Riverdale, but Netflix ended up picking up the drama.
Sabrina's showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa released a statement to TV Line saying he could not wait for everyone to see the final instalment.
Roberto said: "Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honour from day one.
"The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone's favorite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show.
"I'm also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can't wait for everyone to see part four."
Naturally, Sabrina fans were devastated at the news and some hoped another network would pick up the teen drama.
One Twitter user wrote: "Me trying to cry quietly in my room because Netflix will cancel 'Sabrina'."
A second added: "I’m so UPSET about Sabrina ending next season!!! That show has a diverse cast/ amazing characters/ and better storyline compared to that dry ass Riverdale they keep renewing!!!! Im upset!!".
While a third said: "CHAOS was one of top 10 netflix shows the week p3 was released and sabrina is currently trending worldwide yet it somehow wasn't popular enough to be renewed? ok".
And a fourth commented: "SO WHO’S PICKING UP SABRINA TO CONTINUE AND SERVE US THIS EXCELLENCE??".

Kiernan took to Twitter and retweeted a GIF by drag queen Trixie Mattel simply showing a boy crying as her reaction to the show being cancelled.

Chance posted a pic of his character, Ambrose Spellman, to his Instagram stories playing over a sombre acoustic guitar.
He wrote: "Late 2020. One final ride. You're going to love it."
