THE Office’s John Krasinski secretly wore a wig on the sitcom after ignoring show boss’ orders to keep his hair long.
The 40-year-old actor played Jim Halpert in the hit NBC series from 2005 until 2013, with the character being known for his shaggy brown hair.
However, John asked show boss Greg Daniels if he could cut his hair so he could star in 2008 George Clooney film Leatherheads, but he refused.
This didn’t stop John going for the part though, and he secretly shaved his head then plotted how to cover it up for season three with hairstylist Kim Ferry.
Kim recalled during a chat with : “He paid for the wig — a human hair wig made by a friend of mine, Natascha Ladek, who’s the best wig maker in town.
“She came in to do a secret little fitting for him, she made the wig, we got it, and it looked amazing.
“[John] came in a little later that day, and I had the wig hidden in a little secret spot ready for him. When it was just him and I, I put it on him, and then he went out and filmed.”
However John couldn’t keep his secret for long and immediately told Greg, who didn’t believe him.
Kim recalled: “Greg kept saying, ‘No! I would know if you’re wearing a wig’, so John leaned over the desk and said, ‘No I don’t think you would’.”
John might end up retelling the story himself, after it was announced earlier this week that the cast are reuniting for a new for a spin-off series diving into the sitcom’s most iconic moments.
John will join co-stars including Steve Carell for a special podcast series called An Oral History of the Office.
It will see them reveal secrets of the show, and will be hosted by Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin Malone on the show.
Entertainment Weekly claimed it “will discuss everything from the search of a network home, to the casting, assembling the talent behind the camera, and memorable storylines and major moments from the show”.
