Bake Off: The Professionals viewers furious after contestant ‘bullies’ his fellow chef live on air
BAKE Off: The Professionals viewers were furious last night as they claimed contestant Nick "bullied" his colleague Paul.
Head chef Nick lost favour with fans for his attitude towards his colleague Paul, a pastry chef at Cornwall's Talland Bay Hotel.
Viewers defended Paul on Twitter after seeing Nick boss him around on the show - admitting it made them feel uncomfortable.
Bake Off fans learned the pair had been colleagues for 12 years, but still blasted Nick on Twitter as they claimed he turned his co-worker into "a nervous wreck".
After they were booted off the show by the judges last night, Nick commented: "I'm proud of what me and Paul have achieved.
"It's a shame that we're going out, obviously, but the teams were better on the day and that's how the competition works. The blame is shared, that's the way it is but good luck to the rest of the teams."
Despite his willingness to share the blame for their loss, fans were not impressed and still labelled Nick a "bully".
A viewer lashed out: "I have kept quiet thinking it was me, but Nick is a bully. Paul is a nervous wreck. Nick really is toxic."
Another Bake Off fan wrote on Twitter: "God Nick, what an absolute bully you are!! Not all Paul's fault, take some responsibility. Your bosses must be so proud!"
"Why is he blaming Paul for everything that's going wrong and not taking any responsibility!!" added a third.
And another said: "OMG, feel so sorry for Paul. He can never do anything right. His confidence must be shattered.
"What a rude person Nick is."
As one more wrote: "The way Nick speaks to Paul is awful. I hope it’s just unfortunate editing!"
Nick has worked at various hotels across the country before taking his current position in 2013, where he creates inventive menus for his guests.
Meanwhile, Paul’s started his career in the antiques trade but decided pastry was his vocation in life.
Bake Off: The Professionals airs on Channel 4.
