PRESENTERS Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have sent a video of thanks to five-year-old amputee Tony Hudgell.

Taking inspiration from fellow fundraiser Captain Tom Moore, Tony walked 10km on his new prosthetic legs to raise funds for the Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

The Ant and Dec fan could not contain his pleasure at receiving the message from the pair.

Sharing the moment on social media, mum Paula is heard telling her son "I've got something special," before handing her phone over to Tony, who is sitting on the sofa, covering his eyes with his hands.

Once he catches a glimpse of the presenters, he looks at his mum with a smile on his face and says happily: "I love Ant and Dec."

Dec, who is joined by his pal in the split screen video, says: "Hi Tony, Ant and Dec here! We just wanted to send you a message to say what an amazing thing it is you're doing."

"Oh absolutely amazing," added Dec. "You are a hero.

"Listen, thank you so much, keep up the good work and we're sending you lots and lots of love. Thanks Tony!"

Earlier this week, the brave boy also received a message from Capt Tom himself.

The army veteran told him: “Well done Tony. Haven’t you done well!”

His daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore, also on the video, then added: "On behalf of Captain Tom and the entire family, we are so impressed by what you've done, Tony. It is absolutely incredible."

Tom became Tony’s hero when the lad saw him on TV raising £33million by walking laps of his garden before his 100th birthday in April.

Tony then announced “He’s like me. I can do that!”

His mum Paula, 52, of Kings Hill, Kent, said: “Tony was excited enough when he saw the total break £1million, and then came the congratulatory video from Captain Tom.

“We are overwhelmed by people’s generosity.”
