‘Text cheat’ Vernon Kay glum as he attends couples golf tournament… without Tess Daly
Even a ride on a golf buggy failed to raise a smile from the telly presenter
SHE may seem to have vowed to stand by him following his latest indiscretion, but Tess Daly was nowhere to be seen as her love rat husband Vernon Kay took part in a celebrity couples golf tournament.
The ISPS HANDA Mike Tindall Celebrity Golf Classic in aid of Rugby For Heroes and The Matt Hampson Foundation, took place at the Belfry Golf & Resort Hotel in Sutton yesterday (May 21).
Other celebs in attendance included 37-year-old sporting star Mike’s wife and the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall, 35, plus, The Saturdays singer Una Foden, 34, and her rugby-playing hubby Ben Foden, 30.
Also hoping for a hole-in-one was Boyzone singer Ronan Keating, 39, and his TV producer wife, Storm Uechritz, 35.
Telly presenter Vernon, 42, looked glum as he prepared to tee off at the annual event, which is now in its fourth year.
Even a ride on a golf buggy seemed to fail to lift his spirits.
Vernon tied the knot to Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess, 47, in 2003.
Just months ago the All Star Family Fortunes host was exposed texting Page 3 model Rhian Sugden, 29, trying to arrange hotel hook-ups six years after their texts almost ended his marriage.
He got back in touch with the busty blonde before Christmas saying he wanted to “reconnect”.
The Sun revealed in 2010 how he had exchanged lewd texts with Rhian. He later apologised on Radio 1 to Tess, saying he had made “some stupid decisions”.
He added: “I have disappointed and I have let down a lot of people. I am very sorry.”
The dad of two pledged to never again contact Rhian or four other women he sexted.
He said: “Tess is extremely upset. Hopefully I can clear the slate and start again.”
Last month Vernon and Tess headed off on a “make or break” holiday to the Bahamas with their daughters in-tow.
Tess has said nothing about their getaway on social media other than posting a snap of herself in a cute sundress posing on a beach.
She captioned the photo: “Missing the sunshine, it’s waaaaay too cold! Roll on Summer.”
This week she attended a special event at Buckingham Palace to celebrate 40 years of the Princes Trust, a charity for which Tess is an ambassador.
Uploading a shot of herself meeting Prince Charles at the posh bash, she wrote alongside it: “Had fun meeting the always thoroughly charming Prince Charles earlier this week to celebrate 40 years of the Princes Trust.
Am honoured to be an Ambassador of this great charity that has helped almost 850,000 young people to lead better lives to day.”
