Coronation Street Criminal Callum Logan’s body wasn’t meant to be discovered for five years

Actor Jack P Shepherd has said there'll be more drama once he's been dug up

THE last time viewers saw Corrie villain Callum Logan he was being hit over the head with a wrench by Kylie Platt as he attacked her sister-in-law Sarah.

Now the body of the drug dealer is set to be discovered five years earlier than originally intended.

After being murdered by Kylie (Paula Lane), she and brother David (Jack P Shepherd) buried Weatherfield's resident baddie Callum (Sean Ward) in their mum's house.

Gail (Helen Worth) was none the wiser, and she wasn't meant to be for at least another five years.

However, with Callum due to be dug up next week, Jack has revealed that the disgraceful drug dealer was supposed to stay buried for a lot longer.

He told the : "We originally got told that the body wouldn't be discovered for five years, but there's more drama in having them find the corpse."

Explaining why the decision was made, he said: "The story had run its course with us looking shifty and nervous.

"We'd drawn it out for quite a few months, so why wait another four years? We might as well just discover the body."

The grim discovery will be made during the night following Nick Tilsley and Carla Connor's wedding day.

As Weatherfield residents make their way home from the nuptials, all eyes will suddenly be on Gail's granny flat in the Platt house.

David will have time to warn Kylie and Sarah that the police are about to uncover the body, but show bosses are keeping tight-lipped about whether the family will stay cool under pressure or have their secret exposed immediately.

However, what has been revealed is that a funeral will be held for the criminal.

In photographs taken at a secret location, a hearse bearing flowers spelling Callum's name has been seen.

Photos from on set also see Sarah being comforted by Todd Grimshaw as he tries to walk her towards the church.

It's known that the actress who plays murderess Kylie is set to leave the soap, meaning there's intense speculation that she's the one who will ultimately take the blame for the death and be sent to prison.
