Sir Tom Jones and Kylie Minogue tipped to return to The Voice when it moves to ITV
Hollywood superstar Jennifer Hudson is also in the running for the judging line-up
Sir Tom Jones and Kylie Minogue are reportedly being lined-up to return to the mentoring panel on The Voice.
Bosses of the singing show are keen to pull out all the stops to ensure the forthcoming sixth series goes off with a bang when the programme shifts across to ITV.
Speaking about veteran crooner Tom’s potential return, a source told the that will.i.am who is believed to be the only remaining judge is keen to get him back.
They told the paper: “Will would love to have Tom back, so it could well happen.”
Sir Tom, who won the first series of the show in 2012 with Leanne Mitchell, famously lashed out at the BBC over his exit – telling them they can “ go f**k themselves”.
And Kylie, 47, who previously sat on the panel for the third series, has also been tipped to return.
It’s also thought that ITV bosses are keen to get Jennifer Hudson on board.
The source said: "Jennifer is huge in America, where she's won an Oscar and an Emmy. The offer has gone out and everyone's very excited at the thought of getting her.
“We all know Kylie loves her spinning around and it would be just brilliant to have her back. She knows how the show works and is an international star."
Producers are also in discussions with will.i.am - who has featured on the panel since the show began five years ago - in a bid to persuade him to stay when it moves channels.
The insider said: "They've pushed the boat out to get will to stay and are hoping he'll say yes. He loves the show and he's actually a bigger star here than he is in the US."
Jennifer should certainly have no trouble fitting in to the role as she is no stranger to reality TV show after coming seventh on American Idol 12 years ago.
However Kylie will probably need a little more persuasion to reclaim her seat as she has since branded it "dark and icy cold" in comparison to the Australian version of the show.
Quitting after just one series, the popstar said: “We were in Manchester in a nice studio, but it’s smaller and it’s darker and it’s 4pm, icy cold.
“When we started to film the blind auditions in Australia it was January, so it was a beautiful day. “It’s a blue sky, everyone’s happy, you’re walking around in your songs.
“Apart from because I'm home, here it feels much more of a commercial show, more spectacular, almost gladiatorial. It’s kind of bigger and glitzier¿ with a much smaller population we do it much bigger and I have to say the quality of the contestants is pretty extraordinary.”
And it may also be a challenge to get Tom on board following his scathing attack on the show.
"I enjoyed it, but if they don't want me any more, they can go f**k themselves,” he told the Times after he was axed last minute.
The legendary singer also talked about the dumping in his memoir Over the Top and Back: The Autobiography.
Not holding back, he wrote: "What a cold place the BBC is. Sometimes you wonder whether it's run by humans or a machine in the basement.
"[Former BBC managing director Bill Cotton] knew intuitively what makes entertainment work for the British public. Sadly there's not so much of that at the BBC today."
