‘F**k you if you hate my body’: Kesha slams bodyshamers as she opens up about her eating disorder
The popstar also confessed she was battling depression in her emotional Instagram post
Popstar Kesha has taken on a new battle against brutal bodyshamers as she revealed she suffers from both depression and an eating disorder.
The Tik Tok singer is already embroiled in a huge legal fight with ex producer Dr Luke over claims he emotionally and physically abused her.
Yet the babe showed her inner strength by putting the courtroom drama to one side as she blasted the comments of cruel online trolls in an emotional message on her Instagram account.
After uploading a snap of her sexy silhouette in the sunshine, she insisted she was taking control of her future and is "happy as a damn clam."
In the lengthy message she said: "I have been battling depression and an eating disorder for a while now.
"My career is in a strange place and it feels like I'm fighting an uphill fight some days. but I have decided to take my life back. my freedom. my happiness. my voice. my worth.
"I will not just fucking be quiet and hide. today I will say f**k it and live. So F**K it. today I'm making that choice. AND IM HAPPY AS A DAMN CLAM.
"And also a big ol f**k u if u wanna hate on my body. Just remember that makes u look like a d**khead."
The singer's fans embraced her feel-good vibe and commented alongside her beach-babe snap.
One wrote: "You're gorgeous and such an inspiration," and another uploaded: "You go girl! Ur perfect ur voice perfect and your body s perfect!"
Another commented: "You can’t go back and make a new start, but you can start now to make a brand new ending!"
Kesha's comments come after she insisted she would not be "a slave to perfection," earlier this year.
The blonde has seen her weight fluctuate over recent years and has previously sought treatment in rehab from a nutritionist for her eating disorder.
Last year she told Vogue.com: "I wanted to be genuine. But I was sad and [I wasn't eating]. That's not good for your body, metabolism, or brain. I talked to my therapist, and she said, 'I think it's time we take a moment to address this.'
"I went to an eating-disorder specific rehab site where a nutritionist taught me that food is a positive thing for your body."
She added: "Now I'm trying to embrace the skin I'm in. It's difficult sometimes. Every day I have to look in the mirror and make the choice to be kind to myself. This is who I am--I have to love that."
Meanwhile Kesha remains in the midst of a court case with Sony producer Dr Luke which might see her medical history heard in court.
Last week, it was revealed a judge may well delve into her records as part of the music man's defence to her allegations he sexually assaulted her.
Kesha, 29, alleged in 2014 Dr Luke had both physically and emotionally abused her - all claims he has strongly denied.
This week attornies for the pair filed a letter to a court in New York City which stated they were seeking a resolution for a dispute about the music star's "assertion of the physician-patient and therapist-patient privileges."
According to E News, attornies for the Sony producer - real name Lukasz Gottwald - wrote in their letter: "[Luke] should be permitted discovery regarding [Kesha]'s abuse allegations, including her specific contentions that such abuse caused her to seek medical treatment and enter rehab."
Their document also referred to Kesha's stint in rehab in January 2014 to treat her eating disorder.
The chart star's own lawsuit argued she "suffered from psychological effects caused by Dr. Luke's abuse, including severe depression, post-traumatic stress, social isolation, and panic attacks," and his alleged behaviour had "taken its toll" on her wellbeing.
Yet by detailing her medical stint, Dr Luke's lawyers have now hit back and said she has "waived" privileges usually granted between a doctor and a patient.
In the document they stated: "[Kesha] has unambiguously waived any physician-patient or therapist-patient privileges she may have had through her affirmative actions and allegations."
Her legal squad responded to say she had requested an oral argument about the issue and wrote: "[she] has not waived any privileges...which prevent discovery of medical records reflecting her physical and mental health."
Despite having rather a lot on her plate, Kesha took time to thank her fans for their support.
After making public her collaboration with Russian EDM DJ, DJ Zedd, on a tune called True Colours, she wrote on Twitter: "Humbled by all the kind words about #truecolours."
