Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards is unveiled as the new face of Nando’s
LIVERPOOL star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has a second reason to celebrate as his girlfriend, Little Mix star Perrie Edwards, is to be unveiled as the new face of Nando’s.
The glamorous singer, who found fame on the X Factor, will appear in a series of new adverts for the chicken restaurant known for its peri peri sauce.
Hours after Liverpool’s historic title win, their first in 30 years, Perrie shot the new short films which are expected to be released later this year.
She filmed the ad at a house on a leafy residential road in Barnet, alongside another famous face.
Meanwhile England midfielder Alex and his club teammates filmed themselves going wild in a back garden after watching Chelsea beat Man City 2-1 to confirm the inevitable championship win.
Videos on social media showed the Reds going wild as the final whistle was blown.
A source said: “Perrie is an obvious fit for Nando’s.
“She’s young and popular and loves the brand. She shot an advert for the restaurant on Friday morning – which means she would have had to have an early night on Thursday which isn’t the best timing with Liverpool winning the league.
“But she’s a consummate professional and takes work very seriously so she will get to celebrate properly this weekend with Alex.”
Perrie has previously revealed her love for Nando’s. During a question and answer session with a Little Mix fan, she was asked where she likes to eat when the group are on tour.
She replied: “Nandos!!! I love it, I’m actually addicted to it! Never lets you down!”
Alex is also a fan of Nando’s, and in a similar fan question and answer session was asked what his usual order was.
He said: “I always go for a chicken wrap double with the jam, the sauce, all them things.
“With fries and lemon and herb wings as well.”
Perrie and Alex make it part of their dating ritual too — they were spotted in a Nando’s in Liverpool in 2017, shortly after the club signed him from Arsenal.
