Big Brother’s Davina McCall says Piers Morgan and Gordon Ramsay would be the dream celebrity housemates

DAVINA McCall has revealed that Piers Morgan and Gordon Ramsay would be her dream Celebrity Big Brother housemates.

The 52-year-old star is gearing up for the launch of Big Brother: Best Shows Ever tomorrow night, which sees her and Rylan Clark-Neal look back at the groundbreaking reality series 20 years after it first aired.

Davina is still widely considered the face of Big Brother, hosting the civilian and celebrity series on Channel 4 up from 2000 until it moved across to Channel 5 in 2010.

And while she has mostly been reflecting on past series of the show, Davina has also had a thought about who she'd cast in a new version of the celebrity spin-off - and it would definitely be explosive.

Speaking to The Sun's TV Magazine, the beloved presenter said: "Obviously Piers Morgan. Gordon Ramsay. Dominic Cummings would be fascinating in the house.

"Ben Fogle. I think being in CBB would give him the opportunity to show that he’s a very nice person and that posh people are lovely too. It’s an opportunity to break down prejudice."

And looking back at some of her favourite CBB contestants of yesteryear, her Best Shows Ever co-host Rylan obviously made the cut - as well as Pete Burns.

Davina explained: "Obviously Ma Burns – Pete Burns. He was a friend of ours and a huge character.

"The thing about Pete was he would say something kind of a bit scary like, ‘Don’t touch me’ or say something controversial to someone and then watch them react.

"I watched him do that with people in the house and I’d be shouting at them: ‘He’s fine! He’s a pussycat!’ Eventually everyone got to know him and got past the peacock."

She continued: "I talked about Ulrika as well with Rylan. People used to go in the house and it could go either way. They either come out much worse from it or they come out much better. I thought Ulrika was great in that house.

"She was so nice to Verne Troyer in the task that they did together. She listened to people. She won so she definitely won over the public but I just thought she was great."

Davina also teased that Big Brother fans might be surprised to see which episodes made the cut in the new series, telling us: "Basically there were loads of episodes where one incredible thing happened but the rest of the episode was quite boring.

"So the episodes that we’ve chosen might potentially be a surprise to people.

"We’ve tried to choose complete episodes where they are just epic the whole way through and it’s really really fun. There are so many episodes.

"This is just the Channel 4 years though. So Rylan has been choosing with me as a fan rather than as a part of the team. It’s Big Brother 2000 – 2010, The Early Years."

Big Brother: Best Shows Ever kicks off tomorrow [14 June] at 9pm on E4
