Who narrates Channel 4’s Devon and Cornwall?

CHANNEL 4's show ‘Devon and Cornwall’ has returned to our screens for a second series.

The series aims to showcase the life and landscape in Devon and Cornwall and explores the experiences of the communities based there.

Who narrates Devon and Cornwall on Channel 4?

This series is narrated by actor John Nettles, who was born in St Austell, Cornwall and now lives on a farm in north Devon.

The first series of 'Devon and Cornwall' was mocked by some viewers, who thought the the narrator's accent was overly exaggerated.

Executive producer, Andrew Sheldon, admitted that first series' narration has not "hit the right tone" for some.

What TV shows has John Nettles been on?

John, 76, is best known for his role as Tom Barnaby on Midsomer Murders.

He begun his role on the show from the very first episode of the crime drama back in 1997 and acted for more than 14 years and 80 episodes but made the tough choice to leave the show in 2009.

His character Tom's cousin took over the reigns as the leading man when he left.

Others will know him as the unorthodox Jersey detective Jim Bergerac from the the series, Bergerac, which ran from 1981 to 1991.

Not only has he known fame for his TV appearances, but Nettles has done five seasons with the Royal Shakespeare Company, appearing in The Winter's Tale, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Julius Caesar and Richard III.

He was awarded an OBE in 2010 for services to drama.

Episode four of the second series of 'Devon and Cornwall' airs Monday June 29 on Channel 4 at 8pm.
