Emmerdale’s Charley Webb hints at Strictly appearance after becoming pals with pro dancer Oti Mabuse

EMMERDALE’S Charley Webb has given the biggest hint she’s set to take part on this year’s Strictly after she revealed she’s become pals with pro dancer Oti Mabuse.

The actress shared a video of her dancing on TikTok and told her fans that the BBC One favourite was the ‘best teacher’.

Standing in her home dressed in black leggings and a red and blue jumper, Emmerdale's Charley showed off her dance moves before tagging her new pal.

She lamented in a comment: “Need to work on it big time. Can’t seem to not sing it, annoys me so much.” Before tagging Oti in the short video.

Charley, who plays Debbie Dingle in the long-running ITV soap, tagged Oti in her original clip and gushed: “@otimabuse is the BEST teacher. Need to get this to full ‘savage’ asap.”

According to new reports Strictly Come Dancing bosses are already in talks with a number of celebs to star in the upcoming instalment of the ballroom stalwart.

Oti then shared it again and revealed she had 'screamed' at her phone on watching Charley

Myleene Klass, 42, and Nicki Chapman, who recently recovered from a non cancerous brain tumour, are both rumoured to have been approached.

The BBC are hopeful that not only will the show go ahead as planned, but that they will be able to host it at the usual location of Elstree Studios, in Hertfordshire.

The Sun's Bizarre column exclusively revealed that Strictly bosses came close to testing the show’s love curse to the limit — by suggesting to put up the entire cast and crew in a single hotel.

Producers discussed hiring a hotel with ballroom space in its entirety to cut coronavirus risks - meaning stars could practise and shoot the Saturday night live show safely in the same place.

But it would also have worried their real-life partners after a string of celebs hooked up with glamorous pro-dancers.

A BBC source said: "Strictly is the jewel in the crown, so they’re doing everything in their power to make sure it will go ahead as seamlessly as possible.

"Early in the stages of the Covid-19 crisis it was seriously discussed as an option to hire an entire hotel, and to have the cast and crew all live, train and film in the same place.

"It was mooted as a potential plan because it meant that if one of those involved in the show did start to develop symptoms, there would be no risk to the public in any way and they could easily self-isolate."

A rep for Strictly declined to comment on Charley Webb taking part on the show.
