Katie Price and Rochelle Humes lead the celebs clapping for the NHS
KATIE Price and Rochelle Humes put their hands together tonight to lead the celebs clapping for our NHS heroes.
In what’s likely to be the last week the sound of applause rings throughout the country, millions came out to cheer at their doorsteps.
It is now ten weeks since the nation began to whoop and cheer every Thursday evening for key workers amid the coronavirus crisis.
Katie Price put on a vibrant display as she stood outside the house with a saucepan and her dog Blade.
Using a spoon to make a racket, the mum-of-five was dressed in a pink oversized t-shirt with matching cycling shorts, fluffy slippers and hot pink sunglasses.
Stood on her own, revealed to her followers that eldest child Harvey would have been there but he was in bed absolutely exhausted from his birthday celebrations.
After the clap, Katie showed off some of her guard dog Blade’s impressive training by getting him to lay down and bark on command.
Elsewhere, Rochelle Humes shared an adorable photo of her daughter Alaia-Mai clapping at home.
Most moving of all was Kate Garraway, who broke down in tears during this evening’s Clap For Carers as she fears it will be the last weekly celebration of the NHS.
The 53-year-old star said that the nationwide movement has “been a source of weekly comfort” as her husband Derek continues to fight for his life after being diagnosed with coronavirus two months ago.
Taking to her Instagram page this evening, Kate shared a video of her two children banging on drums at 8pm – admitting that she is “trying to find new ways to stay strong”.
She wrote: “Hear this might be the last clap for carers so Billy thought we should get the drums out to go out in style!
“Its been such a source of weekly comfort for them & me & I must admit I felt the tears come tonight to think it’s coming to an end while our fear for Derek goes on.
“But even if we don’t clap next Thursday it won’t diminish my eternal thanks to all in the #NHS. They are keeping Derek alive & every one of them is fighting as hard as Derek is to give us the chance to be reunited.
“Hope has to keep us all going doesn’t it? I am having to find new ways of staying strong everyday for Darcey & Billy, as I know Derek would want me to.
“It’s not easy but when I think of how hard Derek is fighting & the bravery of all in the #NHS it helps.”
Kate added: “Thanks so much for all your messages… Standing together & learning from each other has to get us all through. #hope #love #clapthecarers”
The Good Morning Britain presenter was seen wiping away tears during this evening’s clap, before she embraced her 14-year-old daughter Darcey.
