Lorraine Kelly praises ‘amazing’ Kate Garraway’s strength and sends ‘love and support’ to her sick husband Derek

LORRAINE Kelly has praised her “amazing” ITV colleague Kate Garraway for her “extraordinary strength” as husband Derek Draper battles coronavirus.

The TV presenter sent her “love and support” to her friend following the news Derek is facing “new battles” every day.

Lorraine Kelly sent her love to Kate Garraway today

“Our Kate was out there with her kids clapping our carers last night,” said Lorraine on her show this morning.

“It’s remarkable. Her strength is extraordinary.

“Derek her husband is still in intensive care, but as Kate says he is still with her so there is still hope.

“All we can do is send our love and support. She’s amazing.”

Dr Hilary Jones said agreed, saying: “She has been very strong and not lost her thoughts for other people in this situation, which is remarkable in the circumstances.”

Spreading some positivity, Dr Hilary replied: “A lot of people spend a lot of time in hospital with COVID-19 and many of them do emerge recovered.

“Where there is life there is hope. ”
