Joe Wicks reveals he’s bought his mum a house after growing up on a council estate
JOE Wicks has revealed he's bought his mum a house after making millions from his top-selling cookbooks.
The Body Coach, who is now estimated to be worth £15million, shared his gratitude and thanked fans for their support in an Instagram story last night after they helped him treat his mum.
He said: "I'm eternally grateful for every single person who followed me and bought one of them books for themselves or family member. That changed my life, I never in a million years predicted we'd sell anywhere near that many books.
"They said if we sell 70,000 books in the first year we've had a success, and we sold like one million books.
"And it allowed me to do the one thing I think most boys dream of doing when they earn a bit of dough - buy your mum a house."
The fitness star grew up on a council estate and borrowed £2,000 from his parents to kickstart his personal training dream.
He continued: "My mum's always lived in a council house, we've never had mortgages, it wasn't on the radar for us, so when I could take that money I earned from that book and say 'mum, I'm buying your house. It's yours,' that was an amazing moment for me. That's something she's always dreamed off.
"She's wanted to own something, so she lives there and she's so happy."
Joe's nine books have sold more than 3.5million copies, with his first publication the second-most-popular cookbook of all time behind Jamie Oliver's 15 Minute Meals.
And The Sun has revealed Joe is now is preparing to create his own food brand by trademarking his name.
He has moved to protect his identity in hundreds of categories of grub such as meat, fish, bread, baby food, pizzas, popcorn, soups, beans and yoghurts.
Joe, 33, can also put his name to sauces, mayo, desserts and puddings and juices and oils.
Ketchup, marinades, pasta products, snacks and cereal bars are also on the shopping list.
And he has also ringfenced his name so he can create a range of utensils, cutlery, sandwich makers, barbecues, slow cookers and kettles.
Joe, married to former Page 3 model Rosie Jones, already has a tie-in with meals-by-post firm Gousto.
But papers lodged with the Intellectual Property Office show he is ready to go it alone with his own food empire.
His lawyers have protected both the Joe Wicks name and his Body Coach handle.
Clothing and sports gear are also on the list of protected categories.
Fitness guru Joe has become the nation’s PE teacher as parents home-schooling their children tune into his live YouTube videos every morning.
The fitness king now has two major TV broadcasters desperate to sign him up to front a stay-at-home fitness show.
