The popular drama recently wrapped up its second series and many fans are probably wondering how Grace got away with killing Gideon, considering it was all down to Nelly giving fake evidence to put the blame on himself.

Speaking to the 25-year-old began to reflect on how Grace will deal with the aftermath of what’s gone on.

She said: “What does her life look like? How does her trauma manifest? How do her experiences inform everything that she does, and how does she try to survive in that environment.

“I really hope that she works through it. I think that working through trauma is so layered and so complex, especially if you have a long history of trauma and especially if you weren’t given the tools to tackle things growing up.

“So if you have a difficult growing up period and then at some point experience a lot of trauma, it can be really hard to work your way out of that.

“And so I really hope that she’s able to forge a new foundation and create a kind of new scaffolding with which to hold herself up on.”

Olive – who has also appeared in other popular TV shows including EastEnders, Sex Education and Fleabag – thinks that having a troublesome childhood has made Grace into who she is today.

She added: “But I think it’s tough because I feel like since she was maybe 12 or 13-years old, she has at all points, at all times, been in survival mode.

And I think it’s hard for people who live in a kind of state of survival mode to then try to work through… because it can feel very unsafe.

“It shapes the way you approach life because if you don’t have the foundation before you experience that trauma, it can be even harder to work through it because you have nothing to inform.”

The second series revisited the characters of the Palm Tree pub 18 months on from the events of series one.

Lennie James, the creator behind the hit show that saw 700,000 streams in the first week series 2 aired, is determined to make the series a trilogy as he has always seen Save Me as a returning programme.

While the storyline hasn’t been confirmed, Sun Online recently reported that actors from the show have been dropping hints about possible plots.

Lennie recently said: “I have thoughts about carrying on the story because, as I said, this was always an idea for a returning television series and I don’t feel quite that I’m finished with these characters yet.

“I just want whatever the next chapter is to live up to the previous two and I’m still in the process of working that out.”

So fans of the drama can be rest assured a third series looks very likely and they will be able to watch how Grace’s life unfolds.
