Gordon Ramsay, Gino Gino D’Acampo & Fred Sirieix forced to put ITV road trip show on hold

THEY got lost in Naples, herded cattle in Arizona and got so drunk they needed a lie-down during a boozy road trip through France.

But Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix’s next road trip on ITV is going nowhere, with the brakes slammed on by Covid-19.

After launching the popular series back in 2018, the trio had planned their most adventurous trip to date later this year and were heading to Asia.

But now plans for filming are firmly on hold and it’s back to the drawing board for the culinary experts.

An insider said: “Gordon, Gino and Fred’s latest road trip was going to see them heading to Nepal.

“The plan was for them to travel around and film in as many Asian countries as they could fit in over a three-week period.

“It was going to be their most adventurous trip to date — in terms of the countries they visited as well as the food they would have experienced and the culture.

“But now it seems Asia is going to be firmly off the cards for some time and it’s unlikely any filming will be able to take place until well into 2021.

“Obviously, it’s gutting for them all as they love working together, and going away on their work trips has become a highlight for Gordon, Gino and Fred.

“They want to make sure the next series is just as outrageous, however, so even though their next adventure may be closer to home, they want it to be the best yet.”

I’m gutted that we’ll have to wait so long to have these three back on the road but I’ve no doubt that the next series won’t disappoint.

'Honour Moore heroes'

COLONEL Tom Moore hopes a new documentary about his life will honour soldiers who fought in the “Forgotten War”.

The 100-year-old hero – who was promoted to colonel last week after raising £33million for the NHS by walking around his garden – is the subject of ITV’s Captain Tom’s War on Friday at 8pm.

Narrated by Sir Kenneth Branagh, the North One production retraces the years Tom spent fighting in Burma during World War Two.

While the Nazis set Europe alight, a million Allied troops from 40 nations attempted to repel the invading forces of Imperial Japan from the British colony from 1941 to 1945.

With so much focus on the European battle – and as the nation marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day Friday – the Burma conflict has often become overlooked.

Colonel Tom is upset the campaign still does not get the exposure it deserves.
