HOLLYOAKS will stay on our screens until July with classic episodes airing five night a week after that, The Sun Online can reveal.
The Chester-based soap was forced to shut production down amid the coronavirus pandemic, and as a result episodes were reduced from five to two in order to stay on screens for as long as possible.
A source at the long-running drama revealed that there are enough episodes to run until the end of July and bosses have drawn up a Plan B in case the cast aren't able to return to work.
They said: "Hollyoaks took the decision to reduce the number of live episodes in order to keep new episodes on air as long as possible and the great news is that it looks as though that is until the end of July.
The show descended into horror last night as evil Edward gatecrashed Luke’s birthday party to tell Tony he’s got a brain tumour.
