Rebekah Vardy demands public apology from Coleen Rooney to put an end to row about leaking stories to the media
IF you thought the war between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy was handbags at dawn, think again.
Seven months on from the start of the Wagatha Christie scandal, their legal fees have spiralled into six figures and the wags are still at loggerheads.
And hours before they were due to face off in their first (virtual) meeting since the row — which started after Coleen claimed Rebekah had leaked stories about her to the media — Rebekah said she would settle for nothing less than a public apology.
An insider said: “Becky is adamant she’s done nothing wrong and while she wants an end to this ongoing legal battle, she also wants to be vindicated.
“Becky has told her team she wants a public apology.
“She was really hurt that Coleen went straight on social media to lay blame at her door, rather than speaking to her privately.
“She has maintained her innocence throughout and doesn’t want this to be brushed under the carpet without Coleen publicly apologising to her for the fallout which followed, including a huge amount of abuse on social media.”
The pair used to be good pals but their relationship hit the rocks after Coleen’s shocking claim last October that Rebekah’s Instagram account had been viewing fake stories, which were later leaked to the Press.
Rebekah, married to Leicester City striker Jamie, and Coleen, the long-suffering wife of record England scorer Wayne, have been at war ever since.
After they were unable to find a resolution, the pair agreed to an arbitration meeting — due to take place on Zoom today — to avoid a costly court battle.
Both parties have made it clear they want the issue to come to an end but I don’t think finding peace is going to be as simple as everyone had first hoped.
Buckle up everyone, it’s going to be a wild ride.

Miley Exotic
MILEY Cyrus has confirmed my story from last month that she will ditch her pop sound to embrace rock’n’roll on her next album.
In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, for which she wore this kooky lockdown-themed outfit, she said: “I finished my record and I was ready to go to all these festivals but it’s hard to feel appropriate releasing music at this time.
“But I made a record that’s rock-influenced, hence my mullet.
"This was to go with the new music, but now I’m rolling through Calabasas with a Joe Exotic mullet.”
I’ll have one too if the barbers don’t open soon.

A Healy new world for Matt
GOOD job if you caught The 1975 live before lockdown as frontman Matty Healy says their shows will never be the same again.
He said: “I’ve f***ed off our big live show.
“I’d like to do one more of those kind of big shows in isolation online or something . . . but we’ve all got this new world to adapt to.
“After this, with the way the world economies are going to be and having to still put a lot of focus on the climate crisis, I just can’t imagine putting all that show on a f***ing ship.
“I don’t think anyone can really justify doing that.
“I’m going to have to be cleverer with the visual element, which is obviously very important, but it can’t just be 40ft screens.”

Joan's no smoothie
IF Dame Joan Collins can teach millennials anything, it’s how to live a long and happy life.
The actress has blasted food fads enjoyed by the youth of today, saying the secret to making it to the age of 86 is a simple coffee with sugar each morning.
She said: “I don’t do the kale smoothie. My morning is coffee with milk and sugar, sorry.
“I don’t believe that you have to eat kale or seaweed. I have been eating a bit of chocolate at the moment, with this virus, and I have put on a couple of pounds.
“But I put moisturiser on and I don’t wear make-up on Sundays.”
I drink plenty of coffee and eat loads of biscuits, so I’m glad to hear that’s putting me on the right track.

Wiley the wally has coronut virus
SOMETIMES it’s best for musicians to stick to what they’re good at – grime MC Wiley being a prime example.
He has shockingly claimed coronavirus is a method of “depopulation” introduced in China.
Wiley said: “I feel like someone high up . . . this is a control method. Depopulation is a real thing.
“However it occurs, I don’t know how to explain that part because different people use different methods.
“But I read it on the net. It said in China you were only allowed one baby but people kept having ten.
"Can you imagine in England, if I got into power and I told you, ‘Sorry mate, you can only have one kid’. So that don’t feel all right already.

“But if somebody, the governor or the man who runs China, if it’s overpopulated, he might feel that way.
“There’s a deeper root. I wanna know who is behind it.”
He added in the new issue of Q magazine: “I’m not saying corona is not real, what I’m saying is a virus, to me, seems like a business.”
Sounds like somebody is reading too many online conspiracy theories.
