Killing Eve spoilers: Niko actor teases epic return from beyond the grave after gory pitchfork murder
KILLING Eve's Owen McDonnell has teased a huge return from beyond the grave after he was savagely murdered with a pitchfork.
Killing Eve season 3 has upped the anti and seemingly claimed another fan favourite’s life, with Dasha (Dame Harriet Walter) stabbing Owen's character Niko in the neck in the latest episode.
Niko has had a difficult time throughout the show, with the attack in latest episode Still Got It promising to shake up everything for Eve (Sandra Oh), who was forced to watch her husband bleed out and die right in front of her.
While speaking to , Owen, 46, hinted that this still won’t be the last we see of his character, despite his brutal death.
He said: "I am still not 100% sure that he’s actually 'gone gone,’ we’ve certainly filmed scenes after that. Whether they made the cut or not, I don’t know.
"It certainly looks like it’s the end of the line for Niko at that point, but I’m not sure if it 100% is."
The Irishman chuckled: "I think it’s probably the end of the line for Niko and Eve though.
"I think it’s probably the straw that breaks the camel’s back in a relationship. You’d kind of go 'maybe this is not good for me anymore.'"
Niko's killer Dasha is framing Villanelle (Jodie Comer) for the death to try and cause problems between her and Eve.
The attack was very swift with an unsuspecting Niko wondering why his wife Eve was suddenly in front of him, not knowing that the dastardly Dasha had stolen his phone and told her to come.
The spy wasted no time in seizing her opportunity as she thrust the pitchfork through him in the most devastating fashion.
Owen revealed his happiness of being re-united with his on-screen wife for the final time, although the graphic scene proved very difficult to film.
The actor laughed: "It was lovely to be there with Sandra, and have Sandra around for something like that, where you’re literally getting it in the neck!"
He explained that he was set into a rig with the pitchfork in order to get the shot: "It’s a harness you wear, it’s screwed and the pitchfork is screwed into the harness and you have a plate that comes up your back.
He added: "You had to keep remembering that it was on because you swing around and take someone’s head off with it!"
The former Single Handed star was pleased with the run he had on the drama, revealing: "Two and a half seasons is pretty good, longer than I expected. To be honest, I didn’t think we’d get past the first season, just because of the nature of the show with people dying like flies."
Killing Eve season 3 is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
