Strictly Come Dancing’s Zoe Ball confirms the show WILL return ‘whatever happens’ with coronavirus lockdown

STRICTLY Come Dancing will go ahead this year despite the coronavirus, its stars have confirmed.

Head judge Shirley Ballas and spin-off show It Takes Two presenter Zoe Ball insisted the BBC1 stalwart will be on screens across the nation.

Shirley said: “I spoke to some people and they will do anything and everything to make sure that show goes on. We are in tough times with the Coronavirus but where there is a will, there is away. I feel like they will come through.”

Radio 2 breakfast host Zoe added: “Whatever happens with the situation I know that they are going to put that show on somehow. It might not have a studio audience, it might be slightly different."

It comes after the show was in doubt over the coronavirus.

The Apprentice will not be on later this year and soaps like Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders have postponed filming.

Earlier this week The Sun revealed I’m A Celebrity will go ahead towards the end of the year.

Strictly bosses confirmed earlier this month there may not be a live studio audience.

In a social media address, BBC director of content Charlotte Moore said: "The other thing I would say is people think if it is a shiny floor it needs an audience and I don't think that's necessarily true.
