CHERYL has been tipped to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing after The Sun Online revealed that The Greatest Dancer has been axed.
The 36-year-old star was a mentor on the short-lived BBC show, and now bookies have her odds-on to join its rival as a contestant.
have slashed odds of the mother-of-one making a shock appearance on the next series of Strictly to just 4/1.
Alex Apati from the betting company added: "Cheryl might be about to follow in Kimberley Walsh's footsteps with a stint on the next series of Strictly potentially on the cards."
Cheryl's ex Girls Aloud bandmate and best friend Kimberley took part in the 2012 series of the show.
The Geordie beauty is no stranger to fancy footsteps and is famed for her energetic dance routines when performing her hit songs.
She lent her expertise to The Greatest Dancer in 2019, but after just two series the Beeb decided that it was a ratings flop and axed the programme.
A source told us: "The writing was on the wall a while back.
"Now the BBC and everyone involved has decided enough is enough and they’ve binned it.

"Critics liked it and it pulled in a younger audience. But the cost of the big production for the ratings the show delivered was too much."
Cheryl starred on the programme alongside Glee’s Matthew Morrison and Todrick Hall, as well as Strictly professional dancer Oti Mabuse.
Oti could help convince Cheryl to join the show, with her sister Motsi signing up as a judge last year.
It was previously reported that for the show - ensuring that it can air as planned this year.
