Where is After Life season 2 filmed?
Season two of After Life is set in the same fictional English town of Tambury as in the previous season, with its quirky characters asking questions about how we cope with grief.
Gervais' character Tony is a local newspaper reporter who is struggling to cope with his wife's death.
And in scenes that will make you both laugh and cry - he's taking on a new attitude - saying and doing what he wants. The talented cast from season one are back too, including David Bradley as Tony's Dad, Ashley Jensen as care home nurse Emma, Tom Basden as Matt, Tony Way as Lenny, Penelope Wilton as Anne and Diane Morgan playing Cath.
Speaking to the New York Times about season two, Gervais said: “Tony’s acting nihilistically. He’s reminding people that he’s not over it. He still wants to punish the world.
“There’s a narcissism to his grieving, in a way. And then he confronts people that are worse off than him and make him feel slightly spoiled. We all go through that.”
He added: “Death is the last taboo. It’s imminent. It’s going to happen.

“We just don’t want it to be now, whenever it is. But we can still joke about it. “I don’t know if that makes the show any more or less poignant or entertaining than any other time.”

Hemel Hempstead
The newspaper office where Tony works, owned by Paul (Peter Egan), the owner of Tambury Gazette, is located at 48 High Street, Hemel Hempstead.
