ITV in talks for Family Fortunes reboot – with contestants playing from home
FAMILY Fortunes' iconic surveys could be brought quite literally in house as the show plans a re-boot during the coronavirus pandemic.
Vernon Kay's family-friendly quiz series, which features two teams of families battling it out, could well make a major comeback after last being seen on screen in 2015, according to Deadline.

The website claims producer Thames is collaborating with ITV to film the show in two houses, as opposed to a studio, with cameramen and the hosts adhering to strict social distancing rules imposed by the UK Government.
It suggests "a presenter will be stationed at a third location" while everyone will be filmed "using remote outside broadcast technology," according to the site.
The aim of the game sees contestants guess popular responses to surveys on 100 people on a specific subject - a format which could work well outside the studio, yet this is purely potential for a pilot, and very early days.
Deadline sources suggest the "feel good" programme, which first aired in 1980, is the perfect tonic for the apprehension and anxiety felt during the global pandemic.

Bolton-born Vernon was the last host to front Family Fortunes, joining the team for its 2006 re-vamp to All Star Family Fortunes.
During its nine years, it featured a host of celebrity guests including Katie Price.
It was previously anchored by both Les Dennis and Bob Monkhouse.
Family Fortunes was axed in 2016 as part of a major show cull, which also saw The Cube and Surprise Surprise fall victim.

Yet there was always hope for a comeback, with ITV stating at the time: “It’s pure speculation to suggest that they may not return.”
The series is based on the format of US show, Family Feud.
The Sun Online approached ITV, who declined to comment.
