The telethon is raising money in aid of local charities and projects in the UK supported by Comic Relief and Children in Need.

A post on his Facebook page called for volunteers to get involved. It asked for people to film themselves stomping along to the original track by Tony Christie.

The post said: "To be in with a chance of making it into his final video, we’re looking for people to film themselves marching and dancing to the original track."

They were then asked to upload the footage online with the hashtag BigNightInAmarillo to be in with a chance of being included.
