MASTERCHEF’S finalists were revealed last night on the show ahead of tonight's final.
After an arduous eight-week journey, the search for the country's best amateur cook reaches its climax this evening as the final three contenders push themselves to the limit before judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
Tonight's show will be their very last chance to wow the judges and show them everything they've learned along the way.
In order to lift the trophy and become the 16th MasterChef champion they must produce the best three dishes of their lives and push their culinary boundaries to deliver jaw-droppingly good food.
Gregg posted a photo of the three successful chefs going through on his Instagram Stories, writing: “One of them will lift the trophy”.
In Thursday night's episode, Claire Fyfe was named as the unlucky chef to miss out on Friday's grand final, leaving David Rickett, 31, Sandy Tang, 24, and Thomas Frake, 32.
David from London is a Cyber Crime and Fraud Prevention worker. After working in banking for seven years expressing very little creativity, he says he's "finally found my new art, in cooking". The 31-year-old has impressed judges with his culinary skills throughout the competition.
Sandy has been winning over viewers and judges with her ambitious creations since the beginning. Her signature meal is Macanese chicken with chorizo, olives and coconut milk, served with egg-fried rice and garnished with bay leaf.
Sandy has knowledge of both Eastern and Western dishes, which has been one of her strengths in the competition.
Last but not least, Thomas says his love of food comes from his travels to Greece and Spain where he tried all sorts of Mediterranean food for the first time. He said: "I love to understand why and how ingredients are cultivated where they are, the people that farm them, how food then influences culture."
All that's left now is the grand final, when the remaining three chefs don their aprons one last time to cook three courses for the two judges, who will choose the 16th MasterChef champion.
The grand final takes place tonight at 7.30pm and will be available on BBC iPlayer after broadcast.
