GORDON Ramsay "has done nothing wrong" by leaving London and isolating with his family in the £4 million holiday home he owns in Cornwall, a family friend has insisted.
The 53-year-old TV chef has angered locals by shacking up in the county after the government announced strict rules to stem the spread of coronavirus - with one threatening to report him to the local police force.
However, a family friend has now spoken out in favour of Gordon and his wife Tana, 45, saying they haven’t broken the rules by staying in their holiday pad.
They told : "The family have done nothing wrong, Cornwall is very much their family home where they all spend time together.
"It has been widely reported they arrived on March 20th so any accusations of acting inappropriately are simply incorrect."
No-nonsense Gordon has come under fire ever since it was revealed he'd swapped the coronavirus hotspot of the capital for the fresh air of Cornwall.
He was called “disgusting” and accused of “flouting government rules” by one local.
They raged: “Don’t you realise that by doing that you’ve possibly brought the virus with you and because Cornwall is not your main residence, if you and your family get sick you will place yet more strain on an already fragile infrastructure.
“I’m reporting you to the police. What you’ve done is against the law and I hope they force you back to London.”
Another bluntly wrote: “P**s off out of Cornwall, you’re not wanted.”
The Sun Online has contacted Devon and Cornwall Police, who declined to comment.
Gordon and wife Tana, who he married in 1996, have five children – Megan, 22, Matilda, 18 (who’s known as Tilly), twins Jack and Holly, 20 and one-year-old Oscar James.
He has complained about life in isolation, explaining in one recent interview that he is “working his fingers to the bone” as he compared himself to a “kitchen porter”.
