Liam Gallagher and Lewis Capaldi crash NHS Fest raffle because so many fans want their signed prizes

THE NHS Fest raffle came to a halt this week as fans scrambled to blag prizes from Liam Gallagher and Lewis Capaldi.

The former Oasis frontman kindly gave the cause a signed parka from his Pretty Green collection, as well as a pair of adidas LG Spezial trainers, tickets to a future gig and a signed tambourine.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Lewis donated a signed copy of his album Divinely Inspired To A Hellish Extent.

And it seems these are very sought after items as interest in the raffle shot through the roof and left the website overwhelmed and unable to cope.

A message on the site reads: "Sorry to say we’re going to have to pause the raffle for the moment – we did expect lots of interest, but it’s simply more than we could have anticipated!

"There isn’t a quick fix, due to current working from home restrictions, so please standby for updates…"

Other great prizes up for grabs include a set visit to Peaky Blinders series six, a jacket worn by Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys to T In The Park in 2007, a signed Fender Stratocaster from Snow Patrol, and two tickets to Sam Fender’s sold out tour.

Earlier this month it was also revealed that Liam, 47, would be putting on a free gig later this year for the NHS and key workers on the frontline.

He announced on Instagram: "It’s an honour to announce that I will be doing a gig for the NHS and careworkers at London’s TheO2 on October 29th.

"They do an incredible job, we are very lucky to have them. LG x #ThankYouNHS."

As of 15 April, coronavirus deaths in the UK have jumped to 12,868 after 761 more people lost their lives - including a healthy 20-year-old.
