Joe Wicks reveals he feared his baby son Marley was blind after premature birth before incredible recovery
JOE Wicks has revealed he feared his baby son Marley was blind after a premature birth but has made an incredible recovery.
The 33-year-old Body Coach opened up about how his second child didn’t show any signs of being able to see in his first four months.
He explained on Instagram stories: “About four weeks ago we took Marley to a specialist because he wasn’t showing any signs of seeing.
“We thought he wasn’t going to be able to see and they said it may be a late developmental thing and we were obviously keeping our fingers crossed, and being positive and look at him now.”
The little baby then gave his dad a big smile – one of the first since he was born.
Joe added: “Look how much he’s locked on now when he sees my face.
“Hello mate, it’s daddy! You’re a joker mate, you had me worried last week and you can see perfectly. You’re a late bloomer aren’t you darling?
“It was so frustrating because he couldn’t see anything, he couldn’t lock on, but now he can see my face, he can see my smile. Oh Marley, life’s a blessing. I love you mate
“He’s responding so well, we love you Marley.”
Marley arrived three weeks early and spent a month in hospital with an infection.
His parents Joe and Rosie also share a 21-month-old daughter called Indie.
Since coronavirus closed schools and prompted a nationwide lockdown, Joe took it upon himself to become Brits’ PE teacher.
He admitted his income has soared thanks to the popularity of his classes, but will donate all of the earnings from his daily PE lessons to the NHS.
