Macaulay Culkin will pocket £2.5million for walk-on cameo in new Home Alone reboot

THE original Home Alone film was the big break that put Macaulay Culkin on the map as a child star.

And it is only fitting that the actor returns to his old stomping ground for the movie franchise’s reboot for new streaming service Disney+.

I’m told that the actor, who famously played Kevin McCallister, in the first two movies has negotiated a big-money deal for a walk-on cameo role in the latest version.

Industry sources say Macaulay is pocketing a very cool £2.5million for the fleeting role.

A source said: “No Home Alone is complete without the star of the show, Macaulay. Disney bosses were desperate to get him on board and they’ve opened their wallets in a big way to do so.

“His cameo is being planned and they’re working out the details – but it’ll cost them nearly £2.5million for the privilege.”

The remake was announced last year, with Jojo Rabbit actor Archie Yates taking up the role of the lead character with a different name to Kevin.

Rob Delaney and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Eliie Kemper are also on board.

Macaulay joked about the news of a remake last year by taking to Instagram, where he uploaded a photo of himself with his belly hanging out and surrounded by Chinese takeaway boxes.

In an obvious dig at Disney’s plan, he captioned the snap: “This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like.”

The noodles are on you, Macaulay.
