He added: "Show some class."
Dan accompanied his post with a photo of Boris.
His followers were quick to express their agreement.
One wrote: "He's still someone's friend, someone's dad, someone's brother and someone's son."
Another added: "What happened to that #bekind movement? I hope the PM and all others make a full and speedy recovery."
Former rugby player Scott Hastings replied: "Well said Dan. Can’t believe the spite and hatred! Despicable."
Boris Johnson is currently battling coronavirus in intensive care after being rushed to hospital in London last night.

It is understood Boris, 55, was in good spirits on Monday morning but as the day wore on he began to struggle to breathe and needed oxygen.
He is not yet on a ventilator and is still conscious - but doctors were preparing a unit to be ready by his bedside should his condition worsen.
The PM needed four litres of oxygen, sources at the hospital told The Times.
The normal threshold for intensive care is 15 litres, suggesting that he was in better health than other patients may be.
Michael Gove said it was a "huge shock" that Boris' condition had got worse - but said he did not believe he was on a ventilator yet.
He told Good Morning Britain: "We are hoping and praying he pulls through.
"It was a shock yesterday to hear the news of his going into intensive care. All of us just want him to pull through.
"He is a big hearted, generous spirited guy, we are rooting for him."
