Stacey Solomon is ecstatic it’s the last day of school as homeschooling takes its toll
STACEY Solomon is ecstatic that it's the last day of school after homeschooling her eldest sons starts to take its toll.
It comes after the 30-year-old revealed that seven-year-old Leighton and his older brother Zachary, 12, found it hard to keep up with their work during isolation.
Taking to Instagram this morning she shared an adorable snap of herself with baby Rex and boyfriend
Joe Swash, 38, in bed with big smiles on their faces.
She wrote: "Good morning it's the last day of school and we are happy about it.
"To celebrate the fabulous news, Stacey made her sons a tasty smoothie for breakfast.
The mum-of-three even shared the yummy recipe with her 3.1m followers.
She later updated her fans with Leighton and Zachary's progress with their work.
Talking to the camera with baby Rex on her lap and one eyelash missing, she said: "We're on the last piece of work. Hallelujah. It is a comprehension piece so it might take about 17 hours complete, but it's the last piece nonetheless', she joked.
The Loose Women presenter explained that although they only had one task left to complete, it was her son's most despised piece of work.
She added: "Yes I only have one lash on, one fell off and I can't find my glue so I thought, one is better than none.
"One more piece to go. Anyone else have children that hate ANY writing comprehension is the hardest to get them to do... is it a boy thing?"
While baby Rex was asleep and the boys were having a well-earned break, Stacey decided to get creative and make something out of her empty candle pots.
The DIY queen attached them to an old chopping board and transformed them into a plant feeder and bird bath for her stunning garden.
She later returned to her story and updated her fans how far off the two boys were from finishing from the day.
Lying on the floor next to Joe, she said: "We're nearly there, they're just finishing off their last little bits of their school work and then Joe is taking them for a walk!"
The past two weeks have been far from a walk in the park for the X Factor star after she admitted that her kids were not keeping up with their school work at home.
She shared a photo of her two eldest around the kitchen table at breakfast and captioned the post: “School work is coming in thick and fast and we are NOT keeping up.
“It does make me feel anxious but I keep reminding myself we can only do what we can and try our best. Hope you’re all ok.”
She later added: “Home school is over for today. The boys are playing their games.
“I’m saying goodbye to pre-fixes and Spanish quiz’s and hello to a giant glass of coke.”
She also shared a video of her boys getting active doing Joe Wick’s popular PE lessons, which air every day live on YouTube at 9am and have racked up 9.2million views in total.
Despite finding it hard trying to juggle everything at home, Stacey was able to make light of the situation at the end of their first week of homeschooling with a hilarious TikTok video.
Miming the words to Destiny Child’s ‘I’m a Survivor’, the 45-second clip opens with Stacey lying on her living room floor underneath a pile of homework.
It then jumps to Stacey cleaning her kitchen floor with Leighton clinging onto her back before cutting to her “heavy lifting” a Daim chocolate bar while holding a VERY big glass of red wine.
Posting the clip on her page, Stacey captioned the light-hearted video: “When you get to the end of a week of homeschooling and you finally say goodnight to the kids.”
