Life on Mars writer to host live viewing party revealing plans for Sam Tyler’s ‘final chapter’

LIFE on Mars' writer is set to host a live viewing party outlining plans for character Sam Tyler's "final chapter".

Show co-creator Matthew Graham said fans can expect details on how the hit series will conclude this week.

The drama first hit screens way back in 2006 and was followed by Ashes to Ashes the year after, both receiving rave reviews.

Matthew, 52, recently revealed he was working on another story.

He tweeted: "now then -- if you are tuning into the #LifeOnMarsLive tweet sesh this Wed April 1st at 7pm UK time - you will be first to hear details of what we are planning for the Final Chapter of the LoM story!!"

This went down well with the show's diehard fans, who let the television writer know how they felt about it in the comments.

One fan couldn't hold back his excitement, as he tweeted: "Whatttttttttttttttttttttttttt????? Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy."

Another added: "LOM is still my favourite British drama of all time! Just finished another rewatch of S1 with parents. Would LOVE a new episode!!"

"I’m looking forward to seeing what is going to be planned for Sam Tyler. It will be great!" a third wrote.

While a fourth remarked: "As someone who loves both Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes, I can’t wait!"

Graham plans to not only shed light on the production of the original series, but also offer some insight on the planned reboot.

Life on Mars follows Sam Tyler (John Simm), a Manchester police officer from the year 2006 who bizarrely wakes up in the 1970s after he was involved in an accident.
