STRICTLY’S Joe Sugg was compared to Gillian McKeith when he “fainted” on Celebrity Bake Off after cutting his finger.

Tuesday night’s episode of the baking show was raising money for Stand Up To Cancer, but somehow turned into a bloodbath.

YouTuber Joe Sugg was the first casualty, cutting his finger making a tray bake during the signature challenge.

While he was seen to by the paramedic, the 28-year-old fainted in the health worker’s arms.

The dramatic reaction to the accident struck a familiar tone with many fans, as they compared him to Gillian McKeith.

The You Are What You Eat presenter was famous for collapsing on I’m A Celebrity 2010 after being voted to do one too many Bushtucker trials.

One person said: “Joe sugg nearly had a Gillian McKieth moment there #bakeoff”

A second added: “Joe Sugg is the Gillian McKeith of #BakeOff”

A third remarked: “Joe Sugg has just fainted to rival Gillian McKeith on I’m A Celeb #GBBO”

Joe wasn’t the only casualty as The One Show host Alex Jones, 44, had a shard of glass removed from her hand after her mixing bowl smashed.

She failed to lock her bowl into an electric mixer and the glass shattered – with some in her hand.

It was bad enough that Alex needed stitches afterwards.

She said: “I had to go straight off to the paramedic for stitches.

“He said, ‘I’m just going to put in the anaesthetic’ and I was like ‘No, there’s no time for that, I have a showstopper to make, just do it!’”

Meanwhile, singer James Blunt and This Morning’s Alison Hammond came away unscathed.
