PETER Andre's dinner was thrown into chaos as the smoke alarm went off after a stressful day of homeschooling.

The 47-year-old star has made no secret of the pressure he has felt as he looks after his four children during coronavirus lockdown while GP wife Emily works on the NHS frontline.

But things went from bad to worse this evening when he tried to restore some normality and make a delicious homemade spaghetti bolognese.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Peter filmed the boiling pasta as he told fans: "Nothing beats a classic, fresh ingredients, beautiful.

"I'm going to show you guys what happened leading up to this point."

A second clip then showed the cooking underway as a smoke alarm loudly bellowed in the background - and Peter's children could be heard screaming.

In the clip, stressed out Pete says: "Oh my god, now the smoke alarm is going off - don't worry, I'll go do it.

"Oh my god."

The post was captioned: "Oh my god, this is nuts - this was before."

Thankfully the father-of-four managed to get everything under control - only for youngest child Theo to play up when it came to dinnertime.

Filming the messy table, as well as spaghetti that had been strewn across the floor, Peter can be heard trying to encourage the three-year-old boy to have five more mouthfuls - with the defiant toddler insisting he only has one more.

The chaos continued once everybody's stomachs were full, with Peter unable to do anything but laugh as he caught Theo and six-year-old Amelia dancing to Elton John in the kitchen "without a care in the world".

The busy evening came after Peter complained that it is "unfair" for children to be expected to work all day after schools closed earlier this month due to the ongoing health crisis.

The frazzled dad wrote in his magazine column: "I have such respect for teachers - even more so now - but I think it is a little unfair for the kids to be doing hours of study a day when they're not used to working from home.

"I'm trying to get them out in the fresh air in the garden, though, and doing some activities outside."
