Holby City spoilers: Essie breaks down as CT scan confirms cancer has returned ahead of Sacha’s proposal
ESSIE is set to receive some devastating news this week in Holby City as a scan reveals she has a new brain tumour.
The bad news comes just as Sacha plans to propose to Essie after finally getting her back.
fans finally got the moment they’d been waiting for at the end of last month when Essie finally chose between Sacha and Ben.
Essie rejected a proposal from her boyfriend Ben, and then left Sacha a voicemail begging for one more chance at a relationship.
She told him: “I don’t want you to let me go because I can’t move on from you.”
It wasn’t long before Sacha appeared from the shadows and gave Essie a huge hug and then kiss.
Viewers were left in tears by the emotional scenes after weeks of waiting for the pair to reunite.
But in this week’s episodes of Holby City, it looks like there's heartbreak in store for the new couple.
Sacha decides it’s time to pop the big question now Ben is out of the way for good, and buys a ring for a proposal.
When Dom gets wind of the secret proposal, Sacha swears him to secrecy.
Dom then decides it’s time to make amends with Essie and he's pleased when they agree to put the past behind them and make a fresh start.
But just as Essie agrees to bury the hatchet with Dom, she receives some devastating news.
Essie is on edge as she waits for her CT scan, while Sacha can barely contain his excitement as he thinks about his upcoming proposal .
Not wanting to cause Sacha a load of stress, Essie asks Dom to accompany her to the appointment instead.
But it's far from good news for Essie as Dom notices a new tumour on the scan.
