Inbetweeners’ James Buckley lets rip at co-stars boasting that show is ‘nothing without me’
THEY were four best pals who never stopped ribbing each other.
But Inbetweeners star James Buckley appears to have taken their rivalry up a notch.
The actor, who played Jay in the classic series, let rip about co-stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas and Blake Harrison in a blistering string of jibes — that even his character might have winced about unleashing — during a live link-up with fans.
James, who was using online gaming platform Twitch to chat, boasted: “I am the f***ing Inbetweeners.
“Take a second and try and imagine that TV show without me in it? You can’t, can you?
“People call me Jay. It doesn’t really bother me, it isn’t a billion miles away from my actual name.”
And hammering home his point, he went on to insist he has never watched anything that his former co-stars have gone on to appear in.
Although, in classic Jay style, he softened the blow by pointing out that the others remain “My best friends, pretty much”.
He said: “I don’t watch Friday Night Dinner, I didn’t watch Fresh Meat. Blake’s got a new show (Kate & Koji) out at the minute on ITV as well, which actually looks really good, it looks really fun.
“But I probably won’t watch it.
“I love those guys and they’re my best friends pretty much.
“But if I sit there and watch Blake in a TV show, I’ll just be going, ‘Oh, there’s Blake’.
“It’s like Simon Bird in Friday Night Dinner or Joe in Fresh Meat or something. I wouldn’t be able to enjoy what I was watching, because I’d just be distracted because there’s some person that I know on the TV. I’m still not used to that.”
Sadly for James, most of us have already got used to NOT seeing him on TV after a couple of underwhelming outings, including BBC2’s White Gold, were shelved.
But since it also had fellow Inbetweener Joe in it, James probably didn’t watch that either.
Maybe it’s time for that long-awaited reunion, lads.

You boot-y, Abbey
MOST boots are made for walking – but Abbey Clancy’s were made for sitting pretty.
The model, who’s married to ex-England footballer Peter Crouch, shows off her knee-high, cream Isabel Marant heels in this sultry picture.
Abbey’s been on lockdown with Pete and their four kids since last week and has been sharing sexy snaps to pass the time.
But at least the couple have plenty of time to practise presenting, after landing a BBC pilot called 6 Foot Seven Wonders Of The World. I can think of plenty of reasons to tune in.
And Pete isn’t one of them. Sorry, mate.
Jon's SOS to fans
AFTER he worked with Prince Harry’s Invictus Choir on new track Unbroken, Jon Bon Jovi has asked fans to help him finish writing a new song.
The legend, whose half-finished track is called Do What You Can and who has a new Bon Jovi album out on May 15, said: “I’ve sifted through thousands, from Instagram and Facebook. I got 6,000 in the first few days. I’ve had performances as well as verses. Thank you so much. Please keep your thoughts coming and I’ll be here to sing them.”
I’m quite handy with a guitar so I might give it a go.

The Lawless actor hinted at a possible reconciliation with Mia at February’s Oscars when he showed off his wedding band on the red carpet – but refused to discuss why he was wearing it.
Following their split in 2018, Shia went on to date FKA Twigs before he rekindled his romance with Mia, who he met on the set of Nymphomaniac in 2012.

A real Billie no dates
SHE’S one of the most eligible women in pop but anyone hoping to bag a date with Billie Eilish has got a mountain to climb.
The singer, who wrote the title track for new Bond film No Time To Die, has been left scarred by a nightmare date as a teen.
Billie said: “I went on a date once when I was 13 and it was at the movies. It was the day before Valentine’s Day and he said it wasn’t as magical as he thought it would be.
“His butler was there, and he took him and left, but nobody told me he was going to leave.
“Then a baby came up to me. Looked at me and I went ‘Oh, a baby smiling’. And then I smiled back and it started screaming and crying and ran away. And I went home and cried.”
Billie also says that her rise to fame following last year’s debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? has also put her off blokes.
She added: “I have only dated one person ever.
“I am at this point where I cannot talk to people.
“Imagine me dating somebody that goes to high school. I just can’t.
“It’s OK, I haven’t felt the need or wanting it, which is very new to me. Maybe it’s because my life is so on fire that I am good.”
She also worries about being linked to other stars through gossip.
Speaking to Howard Stern on SiriusXM, Billie explained: “There is kind of like a branding issue. It can not be just anyone. That is not how I feel but because of my name – people talk.”
Even people she flirted with when she was 13 or 14, she says, are now claiming to have got with her. She adds: “It’s like, ‘Shut the f*** up’.”

RITA Ora has revealed there was a serious downside to filming the new music video for her single How To Be Lonely.
The Brit star had to writhe around on a floor covered in hundreds of uncooked eggs.
Speaking to The Face, good sport Rita quipped: “The sensation! I had egg yolk in places I can’t say out loud. But you know me – I’ll do anything for the art.”
Rita, above, explained that the eggs were “a symbol of walking around somebody you thought you knew, feeling like you’re on eggshells because you can feel it coming to an end”.
Rita also opened up about her third album, which she is currently working on, and told fans to expect something completely different.
She said the How To Be Lonely video was full of metaphors to hint at the upcoming record’s new direction.
She added: “The face-ripping is me shedding skin with the new album – it’s completely different.”
